Benefits of adopting animals

I would like to start this Blog talking a little bit about all the benefits that animals give to our health, why it is vital to have an ally, I would say. Approximately 1 million dogs and 2 million cats are adopted from animal shelters each year, meaning that about 23% of all owned dogs and 25% of owned cats were selected from shelters. With these numbers we can understand that we should try to encourage and make people aware that we should adopt before buying an animal, in order to understand that we all deserve a second chance.

All the beautiful benefits of adopt a pet.
There are so many benefits that can positively impact your physical and mental health. Not only will you reap those benefits of adopting a new pet, but you’ll also be providing a loving home to a dog or cat in need and receive their lifelong love and companionship in return.
  • Physical health: The first one we know life is usually stressful, which can lead to a high blood pressure.
  • Healthier weight, for those looking to shed some weight.
  • The mental health benefits like the Lower Rates of Depression. One study found that a strong attachment to a pet was associated with less depression among elderly people. Because of this, therapy animals and pets are increasingly used in treatment plans for depression.
  • Studies have shown that dogs ownership helps to decrease PTSD symptoms and offer better ability to cope with flashbacks.
The last one is the children benefits for parents who are wondering why they should adopt a pet, bringing a pet into the home can offer benefits that extend further than encouraging a healthy lifestyle.

Children who have a pet in the home can learn responsibility by helping to care of their pets. Typical animal care tasks like feeding and brushing help a child to understand and learn responsibility for keeping an animal healthy.
