Lake City high school spent a weekend with us this past weekend, and had an absolute blast! We were very impressed by their ice climbing skills, and the snowman making contest was a real hit with the staff this weekend. Who do you think won this tough competition?
Do you want to Volunteer for your community?
We are excited to begin looking for our summer staff of 2024! If you or someone you know wants to volunteer for a week of summer camp and give your time and effort to help the experiences of the next generation then we are the place for you! Food and lodging is provided
Kitchen: You will help our permeant staff prepare and serve the meals for our campers. In between meals you're able to enjoy the beauty of camp and relax.
Maintenance: Help Joe keep our camp running and looking nice. Mow grass, empty trashcans, and work on our building and maintenance projects around camp. No experience required! Just be able to lift 40 lbs.
Counseling: Assist one of our summer staff members with 7-10 campers all week. Go to their activities, play games during free time, and generally pour into them so they have the best week possible.

Lace up your running shoes and fire up your grills, JEM campground is proud to announce the first annual kickball game between the Village of Silver Lake Police Department and Fire Department. This scrimmage will take place on August 20th, 2023. The gates open at 9:00am and first pitch is scheduled for 1:00pm. Please park at the West Gate. We will have open barbecues and provide charcoal for the event. (Just bring your own Hot Dogs, Burgers, etc.) Kickball not your style? We will have an assortment of lawn games set up. Including; cornhole, horseshoes, spikeball, and more.
Get too hot? We’ll have a supervised swimming area ready and waiting! Don’t feel like taking a dip? Our air conditioned recreation center will be open, and you can feel free to play a couple pick-up games, climb the rock wall, or just get out of the sun! There will also be a 50/50 raffle going with drawings after the 5th inning and at the end of the game. The proceeds will be split 3 ways between the Police Department, Fire Department, and ourselves. Facilities will close at 6pm.

There was a massive oil spill on the far shore of Silver Lake. To secure additional
funding we have a can/bottle drive upcoming. If you can/would like to volunteer,
please meet at The West Gate @ 12:00pm, Saturday November 25th.
Staff will assist in coordinating with you then.
MORE INFORMATION
A full tanker truck crashed and spilled 11,000 gallons of oil into the lake. We are coordinating
with local environmental groups to assist with the clean up, however we will need additional
funding to support those helping, specifically with wildlife rehabilitation. Many ducks, geese,
and small mammals were caught up in the spill. All funds will go toward clean up, any additional
funds will be donated to our local animal hospital, Companion Animal Veterinary Service.
